ChemBio Finland will be rescheduled to 2022, in April this year a virtual event will be organised

ChemBio
Finland event will be rescheduled to the spring of 2022. The decision is due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic situation and travel restrictions. This spring, however, a virtual preview event, ChemBio Finland 2021, is organized on Wednesday 28 April 2021.

The professional event in the chemistry and bio sector ChemBio Finland gathered more than 140 companies and 4200 professionals last time at Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre. The pandemic year revolutionized the schedules of many events as travel and gathering restrictions came into effect. While news of the Corona vaccinations are promising, the pandemic continues to cause a major impact on the ability of companies, and especially international visitors, to prepare for the upcoming event.

For this reason, Messukeskus has decided to reschedule the event by a year forward. The decision has been made in co-operation with the event organizing partners the Chemical Societies, Finnish Bioindustry Association and the Chemical Industry Association. ChemBio Finland will open next time at Messukeskus Helsinki on 30-31 March 2022. The international forest industry event PulPaper and the chemical safety expert forum Helsinki Chemicals Forum will also take place at the same time.

Virtual preliminary event in April

Although the physical event will be rescheduled until next year, Messukeskus and its partners will already this spring offer a virtual meeting place for companies and professionals in the field. The ChemBio Finland 2021 virtual pre-event will be organized online Wednesday 28 April 2021. The virtual pre-event is free of charge for visitors.

- Messukeskus has done a lot of work for the safety of the events, but in the coming months, rapid changes are still possible. The decision to reschedule was made after careful consideration. We want to act responsibly and ensure the safety as well as an all-round participation for both companies and professionals in the trade, says Marcus Bergström, Sales Group Manager at Messukeskus, responsible for the event.

-The online event enables companies to meet with potential clients and visitors can follow interesting programmes. The virtual pre-event is free of charge for visitors, says Bergström.

-The virtual pre-event offers visitors interesting samples in a concise form from ChemBio’s upcoming programme. The April date has long been noted in the calendars of chemistry and biotechnology professionals, so it is great that we can take advantage of a previously reserved date, say Heleena Karrus and Sanna Mikkola, responsible for the programme at the Finnish Chemical Society.

-The virtual event opens up new perspectives for the development of ChemBio. In future events, we will benefit from the experiences gathered this spring, says Carmela Kantor-Aaltonen, the representative of the Finnish Bioindustries.

Visitors can register for the April ChemBio 2021 virtual pre-event free of charge from 18 January at www.chembiofinland.fi
