Graham Cluley to head the list of speakers at the Cyber Security Nordic event in October

At Cyber Security Nordic, Graham Cluley will talk about common errors made by hackers that have enabled the authorities to track down cybercriminals. Cluley is one of several top international speakers who will elaborate on cybersecurity from the perspectives of politics, reality, the economy, and the future, from 7 to 8 October 2020 at Messukeskus in Helsinki.

In the cybersecurity debate, hackers are often seen as dangerous and ingenious criminals, who, time and time again, manage to break into various security systems. However, not all hackers are criminals, and certainly not all criminal hackers can always be dubbed geniuses. In his speech, the well-known security analyst and programmer Graham Cluley will highlight the errors made by hackers that have put the authorities on their trail. By analysing the errors of hackers, it is possible to understand the motivation behind their crimes and to be better prepared for cyber threats.

Cluley is a long-time computer-security professional, blogger and speaker, who became known in the early 1990s after writing the first-ever Dr. Solomon’s Anti-Virus Toolkit for Windows. Cluley has since worked for Sophos and McAfee, among others, and has spoken about cybersecurity to some of the world’s largest companies.

Event topics include China, the coronavirus and cyberthreats

In addition to Cluley, some of the first keynote speakers at Cyber Security Nordic have been confirmed. The former President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will, in his speech, discuss cyber power in the context of international politics. Matti Nojonen, a professor at the University of Lapland and an expert on China, will, in turn, discuss how the international situation caused by the coronavirus can be exploited in the escalating information war.

Other confirmed speakers include Melissa Hathaway, Menny Barzilay, Rik Ferguson and Mikko Hyppönen.

The full programme will be published on the event website. The themes of the event will be addressed from the perspectives of both business economics and public administration, and both areas will have their own programme segments.

The Cyber Security Nordic event is aimed at cybersecurity professionals, business management, and experts. Visitors can now register for the event. Before 31 August, admission is €495, and after that, it is €695. Prices exclude VAT (24%).
