The topics of the Teknologia 22 event are automation, electronics, energy, hydraulics and pneumatics, sheet metal work, mechanical engineering, maintenance, AI and robotics, ICT and 3D. The theme is Solutions for a Sustainable Tomorrow. Professionals in the field can register for the event and follow the programme free of charge: www.teknologia22.fi

”It is finally time to meet and exchange ideas among professionals in the field. After a break of more than two years, there is a lot to present and tell. The Teknologia 2022 event is free of charge for everyone, so it is really worth taking advantage of – networking, new ideas and experiences, a lot of programme and even fun can be expected!”, says Marcus Bergström, Business Manager at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. “The meeting tool allows you to schedule appointments in advance. The extended opening hours of the event and the best technology parties of the year are expected on Wednesday.”

Programme in English: electrification of cars and automatic driving, space technology

Opening Day Tuesday 3 May, Jari Parviainen, Director Valmet Automotive EV Power Oy, will give a keynote speech Fast lane to sustainable batteries. He will talk about the electrifications of vehicles and work machines and sustainable development of the battery production chain.

In the panel discussion Enabling Automated Driving on Wednesday 5 May the discussion is about automatic driving through experience gained from the latest detection technology and automatic driving in traffic and off-road environments. Petteri Uusimaa from Modulight Oy, Chairman of the Board Esko Mertasalmi from Unikie Oyj, Chairman Taavi Roivast from Auve Tech OU and Matti Saarikko, Technology Director at Patria Land Oy will participate in the discussion. The discussion will be moderated by Matti Kutila, Director of Research Team at VTT. Additionally, a speech on Printed electronics – improving operational excellence in supply chains with IoT sensors will be presented by Product Manager Marika Päiväniemi from Forciot Oy.

On Thursday 5 May CEO Edvin Resebo from AMEXCI will give a keynote speech on Future challenges and possibilities with AM?. Another keynote speech in English Towards Autonomous industry – vision given by Karoliina Salminen, Lead Smart Manufacturing, VTT. In the morning there will be a discussion on Finnish space technology and sustainable growth. Presented are, among others, the space debris problem, existing technologies and latest research, space software and the use of satellite data and automatic visual navigation. The space programme, as well as the collaborative robots day programme, are entirely in English.

Astonishing robots and collaborative robots-day

On the Opening Day 3 May, an Astonishing robots-competition will be arranged by educational institutions on the Robotics stage, where teams create a robot that does something interesting. The assignment emphasises creativity and technical skills. Tietotekniikan ja Elektroniikan Seura (The Society for Information Technology and Electronics) is organizing the competition in cooperation with Mikrobitti magazine and Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The finals will be on Wednesday 4 May. The main prize of the competition is 10,000 euros.

Thursday 5 May is the day of the collaborative robots. In addition to user experiences, the results of projects in the field will be presented in English on the Robotics stage. In all areas, companies are investing heavily in streamlining their operations, for example with collaborative robotics. Currently the use of collaborative robots is still marginal, but by 2025, the world is estimated to have ten times the number of collaborative robots in use compared to today. These robots can at least partially solve a number of challenges in the manufacturing industry. The projects have targeted the construction industry and productional units of the manufacturing industry. Measures in the natural resources field are also being mapped. The programme opens up the results with case examples from Versowood which manufactures sawn and processed goods as well as dish basket handling and rinsing system at Rinnekoti in Riihimäki.

Start-ups bring out innovations and compete for a prize

The start-up competition, which will be held for the second time at the Teknologia event, is looking for the most promising and potential growth companies in the technology sector in 2021 and 2022. The award can be given for a significant, creative and inventive solution in the field of technology, which can be, for example, a new commercial product, method or application. The purpose of the award is to highlight new and significant solutions in the field of technology. The Finnish Fair Foundation will fund the competition with 20,000 euros. The competition is organized in cooperation with FIBAN (Finnish Business Angels Network).
