First Cyber Security Nordic event speakers announced

Rik Ferguson, Perttu Pölönen, Tom Van de Wiele and Kim Zetter of the keynote speakers of the Cyber Security Nordic event will open the four themes of the event. The themes of the Cyber Security Nordic event are Politics of Cyber Security, Economics of Cyber Security, Reality of Cyber Security ja Future of Cyber Security. The themes will be discussed from the points of view of business economy and public administration. The Cyber Security Nordic event will be held on 2–3 October 2019 at Messukeskus Helsinki for the third time.

Cyber Security Nordic in Helsinki is a conference introducing keynotes and panels focusing on the problem solving strategies and solutions for cyber security professionals, CEOs, business executives and experts. Cyber Security Nordic is divided into exhibition, conference and meeting area. The full event programme will be published in May, but four top speakers have already been confirmed. 

Future of Cyber Security  AI, IoT and Machine learning are all dependent on cyber security. How come, and what comes next?:  Rik Ferguson, Vice President Security Research, Trend Micro

The Vice President Security Research of the global data security pioneer Trend Micro, Rik Ferguson, is actively involved in cyber threat and cybercrime research. He conducts research on the wider effects of IT development on the safety of consumers and companies as well as companies’ product development and marketing. As a globally respected player and analyst in the sector, Rik regularly features in the media, commenting on the topics of data security, cybercrime and the future of technology.

Perttu Pölönen is the winner of the Grand Prize in European Union Contest for Young Scientists and has studied future technologies at the Singularity University at the NASA Ames Research Center. In the media, he has been described as a super intelligent and fearless inventor. In 2014, he was named the most creative Finn at Slush, and in 2018, MIT Tech Review named him one of the 35 most promising innovators in Europe. Pölönen is an extremely inspiring speaker who inspects topics such as disruption, megatrends and exponential technologies as well as their effects on people, organisations and education. He inspires faith in how anything is possible when it feels like nothing is certain.

Reality of Cyber Security – Cyber is like globalization – even if you think you are not part of it, you are. What does this mean to you?: Consultant, Tom Van de Wiele, F-Secure

Tom Van de Wiele is Principal Cyber Security Consultant at F-Secure with 15 years of experience in information security. He specializes in red team operations and targeted penetration testing for the financial, gaming and service industry. When not breaking into banks Tom acts as an advisor on topics such as critical infrastructure and IoT as well as incident response and cyber-crime.

Politics of Cyber Security – Cyber affects our world in visible, invisible and hidden ways. Who sets the rules and who obeys them?

Kim Zetter is an award-winning investigative journalist and author who has covered cybersecurity and national security for more than a decade, most recently as a staff writer for WIRED. She has broken numerous stories about NSA surveillance, WikiLeaks, and the hacker underground, including an award-winning series about security problems with electronic voting machines. She has four times been voted one of the top ten security journalists in the U.S. by her journalism peers. She’s considered one of the world’s experts on Stuxnet, a virus/worm used to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program.
