Finnish game Pizza Love gets the whole family excited about mathematical thinking
The Finnish company Merkitysten Oy is bringing its family game Pizza Love® to the Lapsimessut fair. The game combines clever thinking, logical reasoning and good-natured competition in a fun experience for players of all ages.
Pizza Love has been released both as a card game and a board game. The game features a delightful story about the love of pizza, and playing it is not only entertaining but also helps develop calculation skills and logical thinking. The games are suitable for players of all ages, as the gameplay adapts to the players’ skill levels.
“We wanted to create a game where mathematics doesn’t feel like practice but like fun shared activity. The best moments are when children and adults discover things at the same time,” says Marko Blomqvist, the creator of the game.
Blomqvist is also a co-writer of the popular Matikkataikaa audio adventure on Yle Areena and is familiar to many families from Pikku Kakkonen evening broadcasts in 2024.
In addition to games, Merkitysten Oy develops tools that support children’s mathematics learning and help make homework easier at home.
Pizza Love has also received positive feedback within the board game community. The Finnish board game review site Lautapeliopas describes the game as an enjoyable way to practice mathematical thinking.
At the Lapsimessut fair, visitors will have the opportunity to try out Pizza Love games and explore Merkitysten’s other learning tools in practice.
