Why now is the right time to look domestically – Fasetti at Habitare 2025

Fasetti will bring a wide range of new products to Habitare 2025, combining timeless design, high-quality materials and Finnish expertise. The company will present new products both in its own stand and as part of a joint Neighbours stand in collaboration with renowned Finnish designers.

Fasetti’s Janne Ylönen says: “It has been interesting to watch how the Finnish design scene lives and moves. In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about internationalisation – and for good reason. Still, it is important to be present at top Finnish events and engage in dialogue with the industries operating there. Finnishness is no longer just a place of manufacture – it is an attitude, a handprint, a choice. It is the ability to stay on track and still react to the times. This is beautifully highlighted in Fasetti’s comprehensive presentation this year.”

Fasetti is bringing a wide range of new products to Habitare 2025, which have been created at the interface between traditional carpentry skills and design thinking. The new products will be presented both at Fasetti’s own stand and as part of the joint Neighbors stand, which in itself is an interesting indication of the growth of community in the design industry.

Fasetti’s Heritage collection combines the work of two very different but complementary designers, Ahti Taskinen and Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs. Taskinen (1937–2025) recently worked with Fasetti’s carpenters to develop his Rento armchair for a new production run. Alongside the oak-framed Rento, a version made of pine and upholstered in Lauritzon’s Farö fabric is now available. Alongside the armchairs, an oak Rento sofa upholstered in Lauritzon’s Fusion fabric has also been presented. In addition to these, Fasetti Design Studio has designed a new solid oak coffee table for the Rento series, which will be launched in 2025.

The collection, which continues Ornäs’ (1911–1996) uncompromising carpentry and upholstery work, will be complemented this year with several impressive new products. Hiort af Ornäs originally designed the Näyttely display case in 1955 as part of the standard interior design of Finnish embassies. The new Näyttely XL display case, which respects the original and is tailored to the needs of modern interiors, is presented in two different types of wood: the oak version can be seen in Fasetti’s own stand and the walnut version in the Neighbors stand. In addition, a lower version has been added to the series: the Näyttely sideboard, which is suitable for many spaces and brings out the beautiful surface structure of the oak.

Hiort af Ornäs’ goal of individual design is clearly visible in the Välipala shelf. Designed in the late 1950s, the Välipala shelf gets its name from the pieces placed between the tabletop and shelves, which everyone can arrange in their own way to create a unique whole. The number of shelves, as well as the height and width of the whole, can also be varied almost infinitely. In addition to the Välipala shelf, colored piece structures made according to the color schemes of the era are now available, the number and rhythm of which you can decide on your shelf yourself.

Ornäs’ all-time favorite Siesta armchair, which delights with its balanced beauty, is now on display in Lauritzon’s Doodle fabric in the Neighbors section.

The Apila stool designed by Rauni Peippo can be seen at Habitare in a new, larger size. Apila large is a striking, yet lightweight multifunctional piece of furniture that can be used as a stool, side table or bedside table – an object that can be varied in everyday life, and whose shape delights year after year.

Fasetti’s artisan brass lighting series is getting a new, long-awaited addition: Designer Pasi Kärkkäinen-Tunkelo presents a new, lower version of the popular Gravitas Ring lamp, which brings a lighter feel to the series while still maintaining its recognizable appearance.

Fasetti’s own designers and carpenters have also designed three new dining table models. Fasetti Design Studio’s Kumpula is a 110 cm wide round dining table made of solid pine and designed to match, for example, the Apila stools. In addition, the collection will include a striking, oval dining table measuring 105 x 260 cm. This solid walnut table will be featured in the Neighbors section, and its final name will be announced later.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Fasetti’s participation in the Habitare 2025 trade fair reflects the company’s commitment to high-quality Finnish design and carpentry, which combines aesthetics, functionality and timeless quality. Fasetti’s Heli Ylönen says: ”When you walk through the corridors of Habitare, you can’t help but notice how Finnish design is alive and thriving more boldly than it has been for a long time. It is no longer just about products, but about stories, discussion, long-term work and bold new openings. Fasetti’s Habitare complex is a good example of this – it is simultaneously part of a long continuum and the beginning of something new.”
