aMove GameStore, 100% Finnish owned startup company proudly presents an innovative and unique board game, aMount® Mountain Climbing Game, designed for 1–4 players and tailored specifically for teaching and learning basic mathematics, multiplication tables 4–9. During the game, players complete up to 200 math problems.  The game is used in middle schools, but also in junior high schools, special education, remedial education, multicultural schools, and many clubs and associations.  It offers an interesting, collaborative, and rewarding way to learn one of the important basics of mathematics in a fun way. Not to mention the competitive spirit… for example, against the neighboring class in a school multiplication table competition!

Game description

aMount Mountain Climbing Game is designed to meet the challenges of mastering, learning, and teaching multiplication tables in elementary school. The game board measures approximately 100 x 50 x 1 cm and features a Nepalese mountainside as its background image. The game has 200 round holes with multiplication table results from 4 to 9 above them.

This is a reverse multiplication game in which players roll a special die and move along the mountain slope based on the multiplication table results. The game focuses on more challenging multiplication tables and also offers geometric challenges. Players can also teach each other and solve math problems together. The first ”climbing team” to reach the top wins the game.

Pedagogical benefits of the game

Many students face challenges in learning multiplication tables. The aMount mountain climbing game has proven to be an effective tool in overcoming these challenges. The game helps children learn multiplication tables in an inspiring and motivating way, while developing mathematical thinking, teamwork, and team spirit.

Teachers can bring a new and motivating learning experience to their classrooms, promote elementary school mathematics education, and help students acquire the skills they need for future studies.

Game target groups

The game is aimed at elementary school math teachers, classroom teachers, special education teachers, parent associations, libraries, hobby clubs, and charitable organizations. Partners have already been found, including the Finnish Class Teachers’ Association (present at the fair), whose subsidiary LO-Tarvike Oy offers the game for pre-order in its online store.
