Tickets and admission

Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is open to visitors on event days. The doors are usually opened 30 minutes before the event. You can find the opening hours of the events on the event-specific info pages

Pensioners with an ID card are entitled to a discount.

At the events organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, children aged 7-17 have their own discounted ticket. Depending on the event, children under the age of 7 get in for free or with a children’s ticket. Event-specific age limits and ticket prices can be found on each event’s website.

If the organizer of the event is other than Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, you can get information about tickets from the organiser of the event.

People under the age of 12 can only attend public events organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre accompanied by a person over the age of 16. K-18 areas are off-limits to all under the age of 18.

The professional events organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre are aimed at industry professionals over the age of 16 or, depending on the event, also at industry students. Check event-specific information here.

If the organiser of the event is other than Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre , you will receive information about age limits from the organizer of the event or on their event-specific website.

The season ticket entitles one person to enter all public fairs organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre itself in 2025 at these events:

Matka & Caravan 17-19 Jan*, MP Motorcycle Show 31 Jan – 2 Feb, Vene Båt 7-16 Feb, Helsinki Outdoor & Hunting Fair 7-9 Feb, Spring Fair, Local & organic food 27-30 March, Golf 28-30 March, Child Fair & Food Fair 11-13 April, Pet Exhibition 12-13 April, Habitare 10-14 Sept*, I love me 17-19 Oct, Book Fair & Wine and Food 23-26 Oct, Studia 25-26 Nov. Subject to changes.

*For Habitare and Matka, the card is only valid during the public hours of the event.

The tax-free culture and combined sports and culture benefits can now be used to pay entrance fees to sports and culture fairs. Such events at the programme of the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre are Golf Fair and the Helsinki Book Fair.  The benefit is available at the cashier’s desks at the entrances of Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

Tickets for public events organized by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre can be bought in the online store and during the event at the cash desks at the entrances. You can buy tickets in advance online for the cheapest price! A service fee of 3 euros per ticket is added to tickets purchased at the Centre ticket office during the event. Available tickets and their prices can be found on the event-specific information pages.

It is possible for educational institutions, associations and companies to buy group tickets for a bill. The order can be placed no later than 2 weeks before the event by emailing asiakaspalvelu@messukeskus.com or you can buy tickets during the event at the box office with a payment commitment. An invoicing surcharge of €25 + VAT is added to the order.

Entry to the professional event requires registration as a visitor either in advance or at the entrance to the Centre. More information on the event-specific information pages. Be prepared to prove your professionalism when asked, for example with a business card or diploma.

The entrance ticket must be printed either in advance or at the registration desk at the entrance service point and kept on display during the visit. Free plastic cases and clips for attaching the badge are distributed at the entrances.

Online ticket sales instructions and frequently asked questions

After payment, the tickets purchased from the online store will be sent to the e-mail provided with the order, each in its own separate .pdf file.

Online shopping tickets do not have the right of exchange or return.

A single ticket entitles you to a single visit to the event mentioned in the ticket. If the product name does not include a day, e.g. a Friday ticket, the ticket can be used for a single visit on any day of the event.

Adults: Individuals aged 18 and older who are not eligible for discounted special tickets.

Children: Children aged 7-17. Depending on the event, children under 7 may enter for free or a separate ticket may be available for purchase.

Special Ticket (for eligible discount groups): Students, unemployed individuals, retirees, crisis management veterans with a Crisis Management Veteran Card, conscripts, and civilian service personnel.

Group Ticket: The minimum group size is 10 people.

Family Ticket: Maximum of 2 adults and 3 children (aged 7-17). All family members must arrive together to the fair. The ticket will be checked and validated by the entrance supervisor.

Tickets that are valid for the entire event: They will be exchanged for a wristband at the registration desk on the first visit. With the wristband, you can enter by presenting it to the entrance usher.

If the event organiser is someone other than Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, you can obtain information about tickets from the event organizer.

There is no need to print the admission ticket for public events. The eTicket purchased from the online store or received from the exhibitor is read electronically at the entrance gates either from a paper printout or from a smartphone screen. Show the ticket’s QR code to the reader device at the gate, and the gate will open. Before you arrive, please make sure that you can open the ticket file on your phone. In case of problems, you can get help from the service desk at the entrance.

The admission ticket for professional events must be printed either in advance or at the registration desk at the entrance and kept on display during the visit. Free plastic cases and clips for attaching the badge are distributed at the entrances.

At the cashier points at our entrances, it is possible to pay in cash. Our checkouts do not accept banknotes over €100. The cloakroom and the exhibition office operate on a cashless basis, meaning that cash cannot be used there. The most common debit and credit cards are accepted, e.g. Visa, Visa Electron and MasterCard. In our restaurants and at exhibitors’ stands, payment options may vary.

Payment methods for online ticketing are online bank payments, card payments (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Business Eurocard) and MobilePay.

If you want to leave the fair and come back on the same day, ask the entrance staff for a stamp on your hand before leaving.

At professional events, you don’t need a stamp in your hand as the professional’s badge is valid throughout the event and you can freely enter and exit.

Group tickets can be bought from our ticket shop in advance, or at the entrances during the opening hours of events. The members of the group don’t all need to arrive at the same time, if you have bought your tickets from the web shop. If you buy tickets at the entrance, the whole group should arrive together.

  • An unemployment payment decision that is a maximum of 3 months old from Kela or an unemployment fund
    • A statement printed out from the Job market Finland’ eService website
    • A statement of integration received by the person before he or she receives the actual statement of unemployment
    • Proof of unemployment may also be a statement presented in an electronic format
    • No discount is granted based on an appointment booking card of the TE Office or a TE Office customer card

    If you have received a free ticket by email or text message, you can show its QR code to the reader device at the entrance gate from your smartphone or a paper printout.

    If you received a paper-free ticket, show its QR code to the reader device at the entrance gate.

    The ticket entitles you to a single visit to the event mentioned in the ticket and cannot be exchanged for a ticket for another event or used as a means of payment for other products. If you got more than one ticket, let your companion in first or give them their own ticket before entering.

    VIP Messukeskus card entitles two people to enter all public fairs organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The card can also be used to attend public fairs organized by Expomark. Currently, the VIP card is also accepted for the American Car Show and the Winner/Dog Fair, but not for other events not hosted by us.

    The card also entitles you to free cloakroom service. Parking is not included in the benefits of the card.

    Accessibility

    Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is accessible. 

    • Our facilities have barrier-free entry and passage from one space to another, as well as barrier-free toilets.

    • Accessible parking is available near our premises.
    • Our auditorium has wheelchair spaces and there is an induction loop in selected rooms.

    The assistant of a disability card holder who has a ticket to the event can enter events organized by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre free of charge. If asked, be prepared to show the entrance staff a disability card or other proof of the need for an assistant.

    The assisted person must have an admission ticket.

    Service dogs are welcome, as are service dogs in training.

    At our entrances, a few wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge.

    All our entrances are accessible and all parts of the building are reachable by elevator, and there are accessible toilets on all floors.

    Devices

    Events may be filmed and video recorded for personal or journalistic use, as long as it does not disturb other clients or the ongoing program. Please remember to respect the privacy of our guests. If you are photographing or recording identifiable people, you should ask their permission. In case of children, it is absolutely essential to ask permission from the parents and do it in writing. Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre also has the right to prohibit photographing  and filming. Recording of the entire program always requires the permission from the organiser.

    Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre organises events and exhibitions where sound systems are widely used, both on stages and at exhibitors stands. If you are bringing your own camera and a microphone, please bring a wired microphone with you. Wireless microphones will interfere with the microphone frequencies that have been selected and organized between the stages and exhibitors of the event. If an exhibition visitor is spotted using a wireless microphone during the event, Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre has the right to forbid using the microphone.

    Restrictions

    For allergy reasons, pets are not allowed at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. However, service dogs are welcome.

    You may not bring sharp instruments or other weapons, alcohol, narcotics, explosives or fireworks into the exhibition centre.

    Please avoid using strong fragrances at our events. This way, those with fragrance sensitivity or allergies can also enjoy the event. With a little care, we can together make the events pleasant and accessible for everyone.

    Children

    The nursery room is open in the Upper Gallery corridor during public events. There is a public toilet for the youngest members of the family, a diaper changing room and a microwave oven. Children are the responsibility of their guardians, and must not be left unattended in the room.

    Diaper changing spaces are available in almost every public toilet at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre .

    Strollers can be borrowed free of charge from the entrances for the duration of the visit. They cannot be reserved in advance.

    Services

    The hotel Holiday Inn Helsinki – Expo is connected to the exhibition centre.

    At events organised by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, lost property can be enquired about from the staff during the event’s opening hours. After the event, lost property enquiries can be made to Lost & Found Finland Oy.

    If the event is organised by someone other than Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, you can obtain information about lost property from the event organiser.

    The nearest ATM is located in the shopping center Tripla.

    Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre’s restaurants are open according to the opening hours of the events, and access to them requires an entry ticket to the event. Exceptions are restaurant Platta and Holiday Inn Helsinki – Expo Open Lobby, which both have an entrance through the hotel and from Messuaukio.

    The cloakroom fee is €4 in public fairs and €5 in trade fairs (attended cloakroom). You can pay with the most common payment cards and with Mobile Pay. You can also leave one suitcase at the cloakroom. Some events have a separate cloakroom for luggage.

    A free wireless network is available in all premises of the Messukeskus. The network can be found under the name “Messukeskus” and it does not require a password.

    Miscellaneous

    Bringing your own snacks to the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is allowed, but they can not be eaten in the restaurants.

    Camping in the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre parking garage and yard areas is prohibited. The nearest campground is the Rastila campground, Karavaanikatu 4, 00980 Helsinki.

    Smoking is prohibited inside the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. There is an outdoor smoking area located near the Northern Entrance.
