Educa 2026 provided a platform for societal debate and meaningful encounters
Educa 2026 brought together around 16,000 education and early childhood education professionals and influencers at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The event offered an impressive and timely programme, with highlights including a major values debate among party leaders and an economist panel. Educa is jointly organised by the Trade Union of Education in Finland (OAJ) and the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The Nordic region’s leading education event, Educa, brought together around 16,000 education professionals and influencers at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from Friday to Saturday. The event, held for the 30th time, was themed The Right to the Joy of Learning and Teaching.
Highlights of the event included a major values debate among party leaders and an economist panel examining the role of education in the future of society and the economy. The discussions can also be viewed afterwards on OAJ’s YouTube channel.
Over the two-day event, Educa 2026 also featured an extensive Swedish-language programme. On the Hörnan stage, the Swedish-language sessions addressed topics such as the state of education, leadership, and early education.
The international stage, in turn, focused on global issues in education. These discussions can be viewed via Educa’s website for two months after the event.
“Educa once again demonstrated the importance of coming together in person. The event brought together thousands of education professionals and also provided a space for broader societal discussion,” says Satu Papadopoulos, Business Manager at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The key meeting place for professionals and stakeholders in the field
In addition to its timely programme, Educa served as a unique meeting place for around 16,000 visitors and 319 companies and organisations in the education sector. The event will next be held at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre on 29–30 January 2027.
