The world of Pikkuli is expanding rapidly.
Today, WSOY announced its Fall 2026 publishing program, featuring three new Pikkuli titles.
Pikkuli is already known to many families through books, TV, mobile games, and live shows. The original animated series has been broadcast in over 40 countries, and in Fall 2026 this beloved character will appear in cinemas for the very first time in Pikkuli and Starlight Reindeer.
The new books, released alongside the film, bring even more content into everyday family life. From first books for the youngest readers to a picture book that opens up the world of the film.
From Film to Book – Pikkuli and Starlight Reindeer
The picture book Pikkuli and Starlight Reindeer, to be released this fall, is based on the upcoming family feature film. In the story, Pikkuli and friends set out to rediscover the spirit of Christmas and find the mythical Starlight Reindeer.
The book takes readers into the same winter adventure filled with adventure, courage, and the power of friendship – where the true meaning of Christmas turns out to be closer than anyone expected.
For Young Learners – Pikkuli Learns Numbers
Designed for the youngest members of the family, Pikkuli Learns Numbers gently introduces the world of numbers. Clear visuals and familiar characters make learning playful and engaging.
A Story About Emotions – Come Out, Pikkuli!
Come Out, Pikkuli! explores feelings familiar to children: excitement and the fear of new situations. The story offers a safe and relatable way to face emotions, showing how even the smallest step can be a big victory.
Over the past fifteen years, the creative duo Metsämarja and Antti Aittokoski have built Pikkuli into a complete story world. Metsämarja is responsible for the storytelling, while Antti leads the visual world and music.
“We are truly excited about our collaboration with WSOY. As Pikkuli expands into a feature film, the world grows with it – and WSOY has the outstanding resources to develop the whole universe further,” says Metsämarja Aittokoski.
