Textile artist RIIKKA PELTOLA at the Neighbours 2026 exhibition at the Habitare Fair 2.–6.9.2026

The 2026 Neighbours area is designed by architect Takkunen. The exhibition focuses on a sense of security, light, and the viewer’s experience.

The Neighbours exhibition features works by textile artist and fashion designer Riikka Peltola. Peltola works in Tampere and Espoo with various textile fibers. Peltola explores space and form through the language of beauty, creating overlapping layers, interconnections, and links within her works. She establishes a relationship with the material by working with it using traditional craft techniques and textile machinery. Layers of time and memory intertwine within the materials of her works. The ability to adapt and change in response to prevailing conditions is reflected in the yarn made from fibers. She seeks to understand the life hidden behind the materials, as part of a mycelium-like ecology.
