Messukeskus Arena to debut at the Nordic Business Forum on Wednesday

The €6 million investment in Messukeskus Arena by Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre will be seen in action for the first time at the Nordic Business Forum, opening on Wednesday. This new high-quality event arena increases seating capacity and strengthens Messukeskus’s appeal as an international event venue. The Nordic Business Forum, Europe’s largest business and leadership event, will be held at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre on 24–25 September 2025.

Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is growing alongside the city and investing heavily in expansion. Messukeskus Arena is the latest €6 million investment by Finland’s largest event center, adding a new dimension to its offerings.

The new arena features a seating system for 5,000 people. Its foldable and easily transportable elements allow the space to transform seamlessly from sports events to seminars and congresses, concerts to dinners and galas.

“Messukeskus Arena complements Helsinki’s and Finland’s selection of high-quality event venues and strengthens our position as a location for international business events, congresses, entertainment, and sports. After the Nordic Business Forum, the arena will host Finland’s largest indoor arena event, the Helsinki International Horse Show, in February–March 2026,” says Anni Vepsäläinen, CEO of Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

The flexible seating system adds value for Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre’s partners and enhances the adaptability of the venue to meet customer needs. Individual seating modules with 361 seats are transported into place via conveyor and unfold row by row at the push of a button—what used to take several days can now be done in hours.

“Flexibility is what makes Messukeskus Arena unique: seating capacity can be adjusted to suit our clients’ needs. The arena can be integrated with exhibitions and used for smaller events as well. Under one roof, we offer all services tied to the event experience—from restaurants to hotel accommodation,” Vepsäläinen adds.

Opening on Wednesday, the Nordic Business Forum is Europe’s largest business event, bringing over 7,500 visitors from more than 50 countries to Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
