MP 23 Motorcycle show offers a superb coverage of novelties for motorcyclists
The MP 23 Motorcycle Show will, once again, be organised after a three-year pause. The much-anticipated event will present the 2023 motorcycle, moped and all-terrain vehicle novelties as well as even more eBikes than before. A record number of brands are presented. New aspects of the show are the daily MP Motoball competitions and a separate area for light motorcycles and mopeds. The Petrol Circus Custom Bike Show for customized motorcycles displays over 100 bikes. The MP Motorcycle Show will be held from Friday to Sunday, 3 – 5 February 2023 at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The MP 23 Motorcycle Show is the largest motorcycle event in Northern Europe. Even more international guests than earlier are expected at the MP 23 Motorcycle Show, as no motorcycle exhibitions will be organised in Sweden this year. The MP Motorcycle Show is the only motorcycle event in the Nordic countries. The Petrol Circus Custom Bike Show is the only event for customized motorcycles to be arranged in this scale in connection with a commercial event in Europe.
All major motorcycle, moped and all-terrain vehicle brands are present at the show. Included are, among others, Aprilia, Benelli, BMW, CanAm, CFMOTO, Ducati, GasGas, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Husqvarna, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Moto-Guzzi, Niu, Piaggio, Polaris, Royal Enfield, Segway, SuperSoco, Suzuki, Talaria, Triumph, Vespa, Yamaha and Zero. More eBikes than earlier will also be presented at the show this year.
”Finally we will be able to visit the MP Motorcycle Show and see the new models of the year. There will be no test track for motorbikes this year, as it has been difficult to get test bikes to the show. There are enough of them for the exhibition stands, but not for the track. Motorbikes can, however, be test driven at the Suuri Koeajopäivä test ride day arranged in the first week of June, now organised at five locations – in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä and, as a new location, Oulu. This year, the MP Motorcycle Show will have a motoball track, a test track for eBikes, a scooter track and a track for juniors, as well as a separate area for light motorcycles and mopeds,” says Project Director Niko Kantola from Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. “The MP Motoball competitions, for which you can register in advance, will bring action to the show. The Miss MP contest will be held for the tenth time now, while the Tie vie’23 travel area showcases possibilities for motorcyclists’ trips.”
Many novelties are presented at the MP Motorcycle Show, among others BMW R 1250 RS, Ducati Diavel V4 and Multistrada V4 Rally, Gas-Gas ES700 and SM700, Harley-Davidson FXBR Breakout, Honda CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp, Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, KTM 790 Duke, Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Suzuki GSX-8S and Suzuki V-Storm 800 DE, Triumph Street Triple RS and Tiger 1200, Yamaha YZ450F and all-electric Zero DRS/X. The electric moped Coopop Rugged, which is presented at the show, is also available as a version that does not have to be registered (25 km/h).

Motorists help Ukraine
A restored and inspected 1978 Tunturi “pappamopo” painted in Ukraine’s colours will be displayed at the MP 23 Motorcycle Show. This project, carried out by the reservists of the municipality Nurmijärvi, collects funds for charity. The Tunturi “pappamopo” will be auctioned 6 May at the marketplace in Nurmijärvi and the money received will be given to charity for Ukrainians. The moped has been restored by CKS-Trading. The moped is now in good condition and surely unique. The brand name Tunturi on the moped frame is replaced by the word Ukraine written in Ukrainian.
The international Freedom Machine fund raising campaign raises funds to repair a destroyed children’s hospital in Ukraine and for the benefit of maltreated Ukrainian children and women. Riku Routo from the Motorcycle Museum in Lahti has brought a 1980’s blue Ukrainian Dnepr motorcycle with a sidecar, that has not once been driven, to the MP Motorcycle Show. Routo found this motorbike in Estonia. The campaign summons motorists to help Ukraine and the Dnepr motorcycle, manufactured in Kiev, is the symbol of this campaign.
