MP 23 interested motorists a lot – the number of visitors increased from last time

The MP 23 Motorcycle Show was organised from Friday to Sunday, 3-5 February 2023 at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre after a three-year break. Fairs could not be held in 2022 and 2021. More than 56,000 motorists visited the MP 23 Motorcycle Show. The number of visitors increased from 2020 by a few percent. Both motorcycles and equipment sold well at the fair. Electric bicycles, for the first time displayed on a larger scale, interested the visitors.

In total motorcycle registrations, the year 2022 was the fifth consecutive year of growth. The Association of Technical Traders Motorcycle section commissioned the event and its Chairman, Jarkko Tuomisto, Development Manager of KTM Nordic Oy, is satisfied with the event and considers the MP Motorcycle Show to be very successful overall. “Motorists have been interested in the new models and sales have been good for both motorcycles and equipment. For a few years, smaller motorcycles have sold better, but now the MP Show has sold big motorcycles very well. The MP Motorcycle Show is clearly a strong phenomenon in which the motorcycle industry and motorcyclists want to be involved.”

For the first time, electric bicycles were present at the MP Motorcycle Show as their own product entity. One of the participants in the fair was Pierer e-Bikes Scandinavia representing GASGAS, Felt, Husqvarna and Raymon brands, whose North European Sales Director Kimmo Hurri is very happy with how electric bicycles were received. “It was difficult to set goals for sales, because we had no idea how electric bicycles would interest the public at the MP Show. There has been very much commerce at the Motorcycle Show and the set goals were clearly exceeded. The test track was a real success story, there our electric bicycles were test driven about 1000 times. Next year, we will definitely participate in the event,” says Hurri.

”The MP 23 Motorcycle Show once again showed the strong commitment of motorcyclists to the Show. People came to the fair in groups to get acquainted with the new products and to meet other motorcyclists. The atmosphere at the Show was very good. This year, the MP Motoball competition was held every day and the competition brought excitement and a buzz to the fair. To include electric bicycles in their own product group was the right solution and we will develop it further next year. Motorcycles were in the main role and there was a buzz around them throughout the event,” says Project Director Niko Kantola from Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. “The MP Show showed its strength, and we are really satisfied with the number of visitors, which even exceeded the previous one in number of visitors.”

The MP 23 Motorcycle Show presented a record number of brands

Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre organised MP Motorcycle Show on behalf of The Association of Technical Traders Motorcycle section. The MP Motorcycle Show will be organised the next time 2-4 February 2024 at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
The big motorcycle test driving days will be arranged this year on 5 June in Oulu, 6 June in Jyväskylä, 7 June in Tampere, 8 June in Turku and 9 June in Helsinki.

The next public event at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is Northern Europe’s largest boat show, the Helsinki International Boat Show, which is arranged 10-19 February 2023. The boat show brings summer for ten days to the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
