Finnish Minister of Social Affairs and Health Sanni Grahn-Laasonen to open Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2026

The Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health continues to strengthen its role in advancing European health system transformation through policy leadership, international collaboration and public–private engagement.

As part of this commitment, Minister of Social Affairs and Health Sanni Grahn-Laasonen will once again open the Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2026 on Monday, 19 January. Her opening will underline the Ministry’s leadership in advancing health system transformation across Europe and set the tone for three days focused on how health policy, innovation and implementation come together in practice.

In 2026, the Ministry is also co-curating the Policy for Change track, which brings together policymakers, regulators, health systems, innovators and industry leaders to address how policy and regulation can enable prediction, prevention and early detection, and support the operationalisation of precision health across European health systems.

This year, the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health welcomes global delegations from across Europe and beyond. Participants include representatives from Germany and the State of Bavaria, as well as delegations from Austria, the Basque Country, Estonia, France, Japan, Latvia, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland. The Festival will also host representatives from international organisations including the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, the OECD and WHO Europe.

Through this international engagement, the Ministry highlights the importance of cross-border cooperation and public–private collaboration in addressing shared health system challenges and translating policy ambition into real-world impact.

Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2026 takes place from 19 to 21 January at Messukeskus and is Europe’s Premier Festival for Health and Care. Co-curated with the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the City of Helsinki, the Festival brings together policymakers, health systems, clinicians, innovators, investors and industry leaders to focus on Operationalising Precision Health, moving from strategy and pilots to implementation, adoption and scale.

Building on previous editions that brought together participants from more than 35 countries, the Festival serves as a collaborative platform where policy dialogue, practical sessions and structured interaction support system-level change across Europe and beyond.
