The security industry’s faith in growth evident at the FinnSec

The FinnSec 2019 security technology and services forum on 2–3 October 2019 at Messukeskus Helsinki was attended by a record number of new companies with 11,600 professionals visiting the event in the two days. It was evident at the FinnSec fair how information management had taken big steps in the security industry and that the sector still believes in the power of encounters. The FinnSec fair, which is held every two years, will be organised stronger than ever on 6–7 October 2021.

FSM considers FinnSec the most important event in the field in Finland and has participated in the fair several times. “We exhibit, among other things, camera surveillance solutions, video analytics, fire alarm systems and personal safety systems together with our clients. We have about a dozen clients with their own demonstrators present at the stand. Customer encounters and meetings at the fair are very important to us”, says Communications Manager Henna af Hällström from FSM. “We brought a lot of products and technology to the stand, for which we also received praise. I believe that seeing the products and meeting experts at our stand is our great strength.”

At the FinnSec fair, it was evident how invisible information has introduced new functionalities to the security industry through smart solutions, helping corporate management in many ways. Knowledge-driven leadership and information management were much talked about at the FinnSec seminars. The FinnSec fair saw the publication of Finnsecurity ry’s review of business conditions, which states that the business prospects of the security industry are more positive than the general outlook of economic development.

“The importance of the quality of security services will also be further emphasised”, says Executive Director Joona Vuorenpää from Finnsecurity ry, the association that the event is commissioned by. “We are pleased with the FinnSec fair. We are very much looking forward to the 2021 event when FinnSec will be accompanied in Helsinki by the strong fire and rescue department event Turvallisuus-messut, which was held in Tampere in 2018.”

The Turvallisuus-messut event is commissioned by the Association of fire-fighting enterprises in Finland, whose chairman Timo Kangasniemi believes in the attractiveness of one big event. “Our goal is to renew the Turvallisuus-messut event and make it more international. Together with the FinnSec fair, we will be offering a joint, interesting stage for both Finnish and foreign fire, rescue and security professionals and those in charge of safety in October 2021 in Helsinki.”
