Helsinki International Boat Show – Vene 23 Båt launches new boating season in February

The 2022 boating season is barely over, when Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre already plans the start of the next season. The boat fair is a long-awaited event where you meet friends, learn about new products and make purchases. As before, the programme offers important information for boaters, fishers and water enthusiasts even this year. Helsinki International Boat Show Vene 23 Båt, Northern Europe’s largest boating event, will be organised from 10 to 19 February at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre after a three-year break.

The last three years have been very good for boating. In Finland, with the growth of domestic tourism, the popularity of boating has grown, and many boats have been purchased. The boat fair brings hundreds of boats to the Expo and Convention Centre once again and offers a vast content for both new boaters and boating veterans. Fishers and other water enthusiasts are also eagerly waiting for the boat fair.

”Almost all significant players from different fields have already registered for the boat fair. Next February, we will present a wide range of new boats, accessories and equipment, as well as products related to fishing and water hobbies. The boat fair has been much awaited. The book fair organised at the end of October showed very well the power of fairs. The number of visitors increased by almost 50% from last year’s event and reached the level of the number of visitors we had before the exceptional years. The boat fair, like the book fair, is an event that visitors are committed to and they want to visit. Encounters are needed and we are ready for them,” says Sales Manager Tomi Frick from Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

The programme partners of the boat fair are already making programs at speed. Information about motorboats and boating is given at Totalvene’s Messi. There, new motorboats of the year and day trip destinations are presented and visitors learn what to consider when choosing a boat. Experts give advice on various matters that are of interest to boaters. In the programme presented by Suomen Purjehdus ja Veneily ry, visitors can hear travel stories and get information about various boating events and competitions. Boat club activities and guidance for beginners can also be found on this area. The Sailing harbour (Purjehdussatama), tells stories from the seas of the world and plans future sea voyages. Boats are renovated at the Boatmaster’s Dockyard (Venemestarin Telakka). The work demonstrations show professionals at work and after the presentations the public has a chance to ask the experts for advice.

Fishing is once again strongly featured at the boat fair. The Aalto area has a pool where fishing shows and competitions are organised and stand up paddling as well as other water sports equipment can be tested. Fishing also has its own programme stage. At the boat fair, you can talk with well-known fishing guides and study boats equipped for fishing.
