Introducing the Birch Forest Furniture Collection: A Celebration of Natural Birch Bark Beauty
Tulipuro is proud to announce the launch of the Birch Forest furniture collection, a distinctive line of furniture that draws inspiration from the inherent beauty of birch bark. Designed by Tobias Feuerbacher, founder of Tulipuro, this collection highlights the unique, natural patterns of birch bark, presenting them in a simple yet modern aesthetic.
The Birch Forest collection is a tribute to the elegance and individuality of birch bark, where each piece of bark is unique, showcasing its own beauty. The collection’s design language is based on geometric shapes, squares and cylinders, that serve as a canvas for the birch bark, allowing it to take center stage.
To preserve the natural appearance of the birch bark, its surface is carefully brushed and sealed with a natural oil and wax mixture. This gentle treatment enhances the bark’s texture and ensures durability. The birch wood and birch plywood used in the collection are treated with white pigments and sealed with natural oil and wax, bringing a fresh lightness to the furniture while highlighting the wood’s inherent qualities.
The Birch Forest collection includes two different sideboards, a table, a stool, and wall elements:
- Edgy Sideboard:
The front of this sideboard is divided into uniformly sized squares, each concealing a door with hidden handles in the form of an unobtrusive gap. This design creates a timeless and modern appearance, while the furniture itself appears to float on short, white-varnished legs with a cylindrical surface. - Playful Sideboard:
Characterized by rounded sides and long legs, this sideboard offers a more playful design. Birch plywood top and bottom boards frame the birch bark surface. It can serve as a room divider, with one side featuring doors and the other a continuous birch bark surface. It floats on long, white-varnished legs with a cylindrical surface. - Table:
This table features a solid yet playful leg design, inspired by small birch trees. The leg comprises four cylinders merged into one, covered with birch bark. The round tabletop is made from solid birch wood, treated with white pigments and sealed with natural oil and wax, creating a light and airy feel. - Stool:
A cylindrical stool with a soft, moss-like cushion adds a seating option to the collection. The birch bark-covered cylinder is made from two parts with a visible vertical seam. The round, soft cushion, available in light green and grey, is made from recycled wool. The stool also features practical storage space inside, accessible by removing the cushion. - Wall Elements:
These round wall elements, made from thin birch plywood and birch bark, bring a touch of the Finnish birch forest to your walls. Available in three different sizes, they can be arranged in groups or used as standalone pieces. An integrated hanging system ensures easy installation.
The entire Birch Forest collection is designed and made in Finland, using locally sourced materials, ensuring sustainability and quality.
