Minja Kolehmainen is Finland’s only nomadic artist and cabinetmaker, who creates large-scale installations and profound sculptures for public and private spaces. In her works, the surface of the wood tells a story of the peace, hope, and comfort that nature brings. All of this comes to life in her Mobile Workshop (motorhome), where each sculpture is hand carved and unique.
For the past three years, Minja has traveled across Europe in her charming Mobile Home/Workshop, which has been renovated into her home and a fully functional carving workshop. This mobile sanctuary serves as the stage for both her life and art, opening the door to a world where the creative process and human experiences intertwine.

Kolehmainens’ work has also been seen not only in Finland, but also in Japan, England, France and Denmark. One of her artwork is in the collection of Museum For Fine Woodworking Objects, in New Hampshire, USA.

Minja Kolehmainen on Suomen ainoa nomaditaiteilija ja puuseppä, joka luo suurikokoisia installaatioita ja syvällisiä veistoksia julkisiin ja yksityisiin tiloihin. Hänen teoksissaan puun pinta kertoo tarinaa luonnon tuomasta rauhasta, toivosta ja lohdusta. Kaikki tämä syntyy pyörillä liikkuvassa työpajassaan, Mobiiliverstaassa, jossa jokainen veistos on käsin veistetty ja ainutlaatuinen.
Viimeiset kolme vuotta Minja on matkustanut ympäri Eurooppaa viehättävässä asuntoautossaan, joka on remontoitu hänen kodikseen ja täysin toimivaksi veistoverstaaksi. Tämä liikkuva pyhättö toimii sekä hänen elämänsä että taiteensa näyttämönä, avaten vierailijoille oven maailmaan, jossa luomisen prosessi ja inhimilliset kokemukset kietoutuvat yhteen.
Minjan veistokset eivät ole vain esineitä – ne ovat kutsuja
pysähtyä,
pohtia ja
löytää yhteys uudelleen itseensä ja luontoon.
